Background:
Against the backdrop of escalating global climate change and the shared
international commitment to sustainable development, green finance and
climate risk governance have emerged as central pillars for economic
transformation and global governance. To advance theoretical inquiry and
practical innovation in this field, the International Symposium on Green
Finance Innovation, Climate Risk Governance, and Sustainable Development is
proposed as a high-level, interdisciplinary, and international academic
platform. The symposium aims to bring together scholars, policymakers, and
industry practitioners from around the world to explore key issues such as
innovation in green financial instruments, climate risk identification and
management, and pathways toward sustainable development, thereby fostering
meaningful integration between theory and practice.
The symposium will adopt a hybrid format, combining online and onsite
participation. Global virtual sessions will be organized to broaden
international engagement, alongside a series of onsite thematic workshops
planned in China and partner cities worldwide. These in-person sessions are
designed to facilitate in-depth dialogue and the development of
collaborative research networks. The symposium has already received
preliminary support from several internationally recognized universities and
research institutions, reflecting its academic rigor and growing
international influence.
Goal/Rationale:
Establish a high-level academic exchange platform: Provide a leading
forum for scholars, policymakers, and industry experts engaged in green

Encourage cross-disciplinary dialogue among finance, environmental science,
public policy, data science, and related fields to stimulate innovative,
systemic solutions.
Strengthen the link between policy and practice: Engage
representatives from government agencies, international organizations, and
enterprises to discuss implementation pathways for green finance policies
and best practices in climate governance.
Support early-career and emerging researchers: Establish a dedicated
early-career scholars forum to provide publication opportunities and
facilitate interaction with internationally recognized experts.
Build sustainable collaboration networks: Leverage the hybrid
conference model to connect researchers and institutions across regions,
fostering long-term collaborative research projects and actionable
initiatives.
